MISSION STATEMENT

All stakeholders focus on the students as individuals and believe that ALL students can/will learn. This will be done through PLC team collaboration, reviewing data, setting goals, choosing essential standards, and monitoring progress to adjust teaching decisions based on student’s individual needs.

The staff recognizes individual differences between students and provides differentiated lessons, ensuring each student’s success.  The staff models positive life skills as we create an emotionally and physically safe environment which impacts the students’ progress toward success.

VISION STATEMENT

The Green Acres Staff will develop meaningful learning experiences that inspire and nurture students to become lifelong learners.

OUR COLLECTIVE COMMITMENT TO OUR VISION

We will promote a safe, caring and productive environment, based on Lifelong Guidelines and Life Skills so that the atmosphere throughout the school community promotes teaching and learning

Our instruction is based on a curriculum that is GVC,  aligned to the Grade Level Content Expectations and Standards and Benchmarks of the Michigan Core Curriculum, and focused on quality learning, clear expectations, technology integration, differentiated instruction and meaningful assessments. Analyzing data, from a variety of sources, to improve instructional strategies and adjust instruction for individual student needs.

We will work in a Professional Learning Community which fosters collaboration and open communication among teams (including all staff), across all grade levels, special subjects, special education and EL learners, serving to promote high student achievement.

We will make connections between real world experiences and our teaching so that students can apply the skills they learn in our classrooms.
We will establish collaboration between our students, parents, staff and community through ongoing communication of progress toward student success.
